ATCC Annual Meeting: Looking Back and Moving ForwardDear ATCC members, At the request of the Argentine National Government, we are sharing the following information regarding a recently launched public tender of strategic relevance. Energía Argentina S.A., the national energy company, has issued the National and International Public Tender GPM No. 01/2025 for the execution and financing of expansion works for Section I of the Perito Francisco Pascasio Moreno Gas Pipeline (GPM), and for the provision of operation and maintenance services. This initiative — the first private investment project in Argentina’s national natural gas transportation system — aims to expand the GPM’s current transport capacity from 26 to 40 million cubic meters per day, enhancing the flow of natural gas from Vaca Muerta (Neuquén) to the Province of Buenos Aires. The proposed works include the construction of new compressor plants at several points along the pipeline route and the adaptation of existing facilities. These upgrades are designed to increase capacity and efficiency across the system. The awarded company will enter into a 15-year capacity reservation agreement with Energía Argentina S.A. and will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the pipeline. After this term, ownership of the new infrastructure will revert to the State. Declared of public interest by the National Government, this project is expected to accelerate energy development, generate fiscal savings, and improve Argentina’s trade balance.
