Geopolitics and Energy Markets: ATCC Webinar on Vaca Muerta’s Strategic RoleThe Argentina–Texas Chamber of Commerce (ATCC) recently hosted a webinar focused on the growing impact of geopolitical dynamics on global energy markets and the strategic role of Vaca Muerta in this evolving landscape. In a context of increasing global volatility, the session explored how ongoing tensions—particularly in key regions such as the Middle East—are reshaping supply dynamics, influencing prices, and reinforcing the importance of energy security for both countries and companies. As global uncertainty rises, Argentina’s energy potential is gaining renewed attention. The discussion highlighted Vaca Muerta as a critical asset for the country, with the potential to strengthen energy self-sufficiency, expand export capacity—especially in natural gas—and position Argentina more prominently within global energy markets. At the same time, speakers addressed the challenges and opportunities that emerge in a more competitive and rapidly changing environment. The session featured insights from Ernesto Díaz, Senior Vice President for Latin America at Rystad Energy, and Ariel Bosio, Vice President of ATCC, who shared perspectives on global oil and gas trends, investment dynamics, and the evolving role of Argentina in the international energy landscape. Bringing together global context and local opportunities, the webinar provided a valuable space for strategic discussion and reinforced the importance of Vaca Muerta in shaping the future of Argentina’s energy sector. We also thank all participants for joining the session and contributing to a rich and engaging exchange. |
