Vaca Muerta’s Strategic Future: ATCC Connecting Argentina with the Permian Basin

Within the framework of CERAWeek, the Argentina–Texas Chamber of Commerce (ATCC) hosted a high-level meeting on March 23, bringing together key stakeholders from Argentina and the United States to strengthen the energy dialogue between both countries.

The session featured the participation of Argentina’s Secretary of Energy and Mining Coordination, Daniel González, alongside leading players from the Permian Basin, major Argentine energy companies, venture capital firms, and government representatives from both nations.

The meeting focused on identifying concrete investment opportunities for U.S. companies in Argentina, highlighting the strategic potential of Vaca Muerta. With its scale, resource quality, and improving macro and regulatory conditions, the Neuquén Basin continues to position itself as one of the most attractive emerging energy hubs globally.

Participants explored how Argentina can leverage the experience of the U.S. shale revolution—particularly in Texas—to accelerate development, enhance competitiveness, and scale production.

ATCC facilitated a space for open and forward-looking discussion between public and private sector leaders, addressing key topics such as unconventional resource development, investment frameworks, and the long-term outlook for Argentina’s energy sector.

The meeting brought together companies and institutions at the core of the bilateral energy ecosystem, fostering valuable exchanges and strengthening connections across markets.

In a context of growing international interest in Argentina’s energy potential, ATCC continues to play a key role in building bridges between Argentina and the United States. By connecting stakeholders, aligning interests, and promoting dialogue, the Chamber contributes to turning opportunities into tangible outcomes for the sector.
