ATCC Tech Trade Mission: Connecting Argentina & Austin’s Innovation Ecosystem at SXSW 2025

From March 6-8, 2025, the Argentina-Texas Chamber of Commerce (ATCC) successfully led a Tech Trade Mission to Austin, bringing together 20 Argentine companies and over 500 participants from the U.S. and international business communities. This mission, held within the framework of South by Southwest (SXSW), strengthened cross-border business opportunities, helping Argentine tech companies explore internationalization while showcasing Argentina’s innovation potential to Austin’s thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Bridging Argentina and Austin

The mission provided exclusive access to top U.S. tech players, starting with visits to Tesla and Dell Technologies Headquarters, where delegates gained first-hand insights into cutting-edge technology, scaling strategies, and global business operations.

The highlight of the mission was Casa Argentina at SXSW, which served as a platform for fostering business collaboration and knowledge exchange. The opening remarks were delivered by:

    •    Cristina Tosonotti, Consul General of Argentina in Houston

    •    Mariano Gaido, Mayor of Neuquén

    •    Ruth Hughs, Former Secretary of State of Texas

Discussions at Casa Argentina focused on key trends shaping the global tech landscape, including cross-border success stories, investment opportunities, M&A strategies, and the future of work. High-profile speakers such as Roland Peña (Opportunity Austin), Jack Whelan (International Accelerator), and Elian Savodivker (LBAN) shared insights on Austin’s startup ecosystem, reinforcing its role as a gateway for Argentine companies looking to expand into the U.S.

YPF Hackathon & The Future of Innovation

The mission concluded with the YPF Hackathon, a key initiative that showcased Argentina’s growing role in energy innovation and technology.
